SCSU is part of the Minnesota State System, which is the largest single provider of higher education in the state with 37 institutions, including seven state universities and 30 community and technical colleges. St. Cloud State University is one of the largest and most diverse public universities in Minnesota, serving more than 13,000 students from 45 states including Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, and 96 different countries. The university recently celebrated its 150th anniversary, its sesquicentennial celebration, in 2019.
